How schools run Student of the Month
Student of the Month is usually chosen by each teacher for their class, or by a grade team for the whole year group, and presented at a monthly assembly or in front of the class. Many schools give the award a monthly theme – respect in September, responsibility in October, kindness in November – so the reason on the certificate ties the student to that month's value.
Because the award comes round every month, it pays to set it up once: your logo, design and the principal's signature are remembered in this browser, so each month you only change the month and the names.
What to put on a Student of the Month certificate
- The title: “Student of the Month”, optionally with the month itself (“Student of the Month – March”).
- The student's name, the way they like to be called.
- Why they were chosen: one specific sentence about what they did, not just “for being great”.
- The month and year, in the date or in the reason line.
- The school's name and logo, with the teacher's and the principal's signatures (two signers fit).

One certificate per class, printed together
When every class chooses its own Student of the Month, collect the names and reasons in a spreadsheet – column A the name, column B the reason – and paste both columns into Recipients. Each student gets their own page with their own reason, in the same design, ready for the assembly. Add the class to the reason line if certificates are handed out by someone who does not know every student.

Frequently asked questions
What is Student of the Month based on?
Each school sets its own criteria. Common ones are effort, kindness, behaviour, leadership, improvement or a monthly value such as respect or responsibility. Whatever the reason, write it on the certificate so the student and their family know exactly what was noticed.
Can I make one certificate for every class at once?
Yes. Paste up to 100 names, each with its own reason after a tab, “|” or comma, or paste two columns from a spreadsheet. Every student gets a separate page.
Can I keep the same design every month?
Yes. The design, logo, wording and signatures are remembered in this browser, so next month you only change the names and the month. Tick Remember names on this device if you also want the names kept.
Can the principal and the teacher both sign?
Yes. Under Date and signatures there are two signers, each with a name, a role and an optional signature image.
