Attendance, completion or perfect attendance?
- A certificate of attendance confirms that someone was present at a course, workshop, training session or conference. It does not say they passed anything.
- A certificate of completion says they finished a course or programme, often with an assessment or all modules done.
- A perfect attendance certificate rewards a pupil or employee who was there every day of a term or year.
Continuing-education and training records often ask for an attendance certificate with the date and the number of hours, so put both on it.
What to put on a certificate of attendance
- The title: “Certificate of Attendance”.
- The attendee's full name, as on the registration list.
- The event: course, workshop or conference title, the date(s) and the place or “online”.
- The hours, if the certificate counts towards training or CPD records.
- The organiser's name and logo, and the trainer's or organiser's signature.

From the sign-in sheet to certificates
Export the sign-in sheet or registration list as CSV and import it, or copy the name column and paste it. If attendees came for different sessions, add each person's line after their name with the session and hours. Everyone gets their own page; Download › ZIP gives one PDF per name to attach to emails, and Print or Save as PDF gives the sharpest text.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a certificate of attendance and a certificate of completion?
Attendance confirms someone was there; completion confirms they finished the course or programme, often including an assessment. If there was no test or final task, a certificate of attendance is the accurate choice.
Should a certificate of attendance show the hours?
If it may count towards training, continuing education or CPD records, yes: write the date and the number of hours in the reason line, as those records usually ask for both.
Can I email each attendee their own certificate?
Download › ZIP makes one PDF per name, named after the person, which you can attach to emails. Nivparo does not send emails itself.
Can I make certificates for different sessions in one go?
Yes. Put each attendee's session and hours after their name, after a tab, “|” or comma. Up to 100 certificates are made at once.
